Why we pivoted then
F5.1 and F5.2 are closed. F9 is eleventh and last in the ranking, and the last family before this run's stopping point; the ranking is unchanged.
What happened before
- 0195: Gromark on a mixed alphabet in any order, with three-term rules in bases 2-16 and 26 and longer two-term rules: 1.5 billion starting runs, none fits K4 or a copy.
- 0196: the same with each digit the product of two earlier ones: none fits. YAR as starting digits is one of the runs every sweep already tries.
The change we believe is needed
- F9.1: write the list of hand transpositions built since 0106 with their sizes. Then test each with a one-to-one substitution before it: equal known letters must land on equal carved letters.
- The three largest libraries (0158, 0162, 0167) are compiled into their own testers; they are listed with their sizes and left for a follow-up if the rest finds anything.
