Most of the internet rewards speed. Scan it. React to it. Move on to the next thing.
A good book does the opposite.
It asks you to sit with someone else’s thinking for a few hours. Sometimes you agree. Sometimes you argue with the author in your head. Sometimes one paragraph stays with you for days.
I like that.
Not everything valuable should be consumed quickly.
@DougStandley Interesting. I hadn't yet thought of my own reading books as a way of slowing down per se. Will observe this a bit moving forward and report back :)
